Tell-Tale Symptoms of a Bad HVAC System

Weak Air Flow

One of the most common symptoms of a bad HVAC system is weak airflow. Weak airflow usually means there’s a clog somewhere in your system. Chances are it’s your cabin air filter. A lot of people mistakenly assume that their engine air filter accounts for your cabin’s air, but that’s not true for a lot of vehicles. Your cabin air filter needs to be changed on a routine basis as well.

Excessive Moisture

Your A/C system is designed to remove moisture from your cabin’s air. If you are having issues with excessive moisture in your cabin, your A/C system needs maintenance. Sometimes the evaporator coils within your A/C system, which are responsible for removing moisture, can become clogged. One of our technicians will go in and clean these evaporator coils. Your A/C will be back up and running in no time.

Vent Blockage

Your HVAC system uses a series of ducts to transfer air throughout your vehicle. If one of these ducts, or in other words, air vents, stops releasing air, chances are it’s clogged. Typically this only happens if your air filter fails, and is, therefore, a sign that your filter needs to be changed. It may also indicate a breach in your air duct system. Breaches are usually caused by car accidents. Your ducts may also be pinched as a result of a car accident as well.
